Dinner with Grandma Tapir

We've got a self feeder here folks!
Grandma Tapir (Sheryl) came over the other night for a visit, and just in time for feeding Teagan dinner. She worked with him on holding his fork and he finally got it. He was able to do it all on his own. Well, maybe with a little help still, but I took some pictures of them and caught it on film. Below are two videos of him feeding himself.

Thanks Grandma!

Showing him how to hold the fork.

Here you hold it.

Into the mouth it goes!

Assisting him to the bowl.

Into the mouth all on his own!

People have wondered if we know if Teagan is right or left handed. If you notice above, half the time he is using his right hand and the other time he is using his left hand.

Apparently, he is still trying to figuring it out.

There may be a black screen, but you should be able to click the play button.

After his ravioli's he had yogurt, which was a new substance to be working with.
Please see below...

Again, there may be a black screen but you should be able to play it.

Well so maybe we shouldn't have had him try the yogurt on his own just yet. hehe.

A Boy in a Box

So it is not a boy in just one box, but many....

We got this great big box from diapers.com, and who can resist it!

This is great website that offers free shipping for orders over $49, and if you are first time shopper they give you $10 off your first order, enter in my email or code to refer a friend and then you build credit every time someone puts your email or code in. Our code is: LAUR4056.

We have three bins lined up with toys and book in them and Teagan loves to get in them

Teagan loves this Soft Play Panda that Grandma Tapir got for him. She sells them at her online gift shop.

Teagan has had this toy since he was a year old and has been a completely appropriate toy for him. We have been teaching him about the colors black and white, and showing him the Panda's legs, ears, eyes, and nose.

Great gift for teething babies, since it is a soft safe plastic toy!

Standing up and having a great time inside this huge box!

Teagan has started to drag the boxes/bins to the middle of the living room floor and then getting inside them.

Yet another box, this one is the book box.

Oh look at him, standing up.....

Boxes come in all different sizes, this happens to be a box that his plastic shapes go into, but not today.
One foot in...

...booth feet in. Looks like he is squatting down to do, you know what!

Just big enough to fit one butt cheek on.

Coffee Girl

We haven't been to our favorite coffee place, Coffee Girl, in quite some time now. So yesterday, Saturday we decided to go, and invited Sheryl, or Grandma Tapir as Teagan knows her as, to join us. She has been so busy working on her online gift shop, I told her to take a break and join us for a bit. I have been singing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" for a while now, so Teagan has been learning too. He will put his hands up on his head when I say "head", it is pretty cute. I was able to snap a few photos from this morning.

This is an old photo from Sheryl, of her Cappuccino. The girls at Coffee Girl do such a nice job of making designs in your drinks. It is so creative and fun!

Both Teagan and James drinking out of their cups!

Teagan's 1st Birthday Party

Saturday was Teagan's 1st Birthday party. We had a nice time with a few friends and mostly family. I had planned for a 2 o'clock party so that he could take a good nap before the chaos. My friend Jen helped me set up, and she was a huge help. Thanks Jen! I made Teagan his own cake that he could enjoy and destroy. In all we had a nice time. Thank you to all that came! See you next year!

James and I with our big 1 year old!

Me and Teagan, I just can't believe he is 1!

The beginning of the present opening.

He likes the tissue paper!

He got his own stuffed-soft play panda from Grandma Tapir!

Figuring out a new toy.

I think I might have mentioned that he loves tissue paper! Forget the actual gift that was inside, just give him the paper!

Ohhh, ribbon..........

In a sea of paper...

...and in a mountain of paper!

Cake time!
James and I blew out the candle. Teagan wanted to grab at the candle so badly.

Oh Daddy, I touched the cake!

Yum!

Some help from Mom.

Going to town!

Happy Boy!

Yeah! Alright, the sugar high has kicked on!

This was what was left of him.....just kidding.
James stripped him down of the chocolate mess to let him play.

The Pumpkin Patch

Sunday we were invited to go to the Pumpkin Patch out on Sauvie Island, outside Portland, to Hannelie's 2nd birthday party. We were joined by the Popkin gang, my Aunt Jane (Auntie Gram), my cousin Mark, and my dad and Sheryl (Grandma Tapir). After lunch we went exploring, and had a great time. The weather was perfect, we didn't get drenched, it was actually pretty nice out.

It was neat to see my dad and Aunt Jane (brother and sister) with their grandchildren, Teagan and Hannelie.

My dad's friend, Steve's wife, Hilary, made this hat for Teagan. Fitting isn't it!

Sheryl gave this "soft play" squishy plastic panda to Hannelie for her birthday, but Teagan was also interested in it.

Teagan and Daddy at the Pumpkin Patch!

James mostly packed Teagan in our back-pack pack, which Teagan enjoyed. He was up high and could see what was going on.

Lots of things to look at!

My little pumpkin!
(both of them)

Oh what do they see?

A llama!

What are those orange things, Daddy?

Field of Screams!

It was very beautiful there.

Fall colors.

Such a cute smile on Teagan, you can see how much he loves this!

Look at that tongue!

Family hay ride!

Daddy, is this my pumpkin?

It is! It's just my size!
