California!

We Made it! After a long 12 hour drive we arrived in Los Gatos. Teagan did great! I was anticipating a total and complete meltdown about an hour out, but it never happened. Yeah Teagan! We got in about 4:30pm, so yes that means we left Portland at 4:15am. When we arrived it was hot, high 80's which we are not used to, and Teagan quickly discovered the garden hose. We are all doing just fine with many pictures to come.

Cooling off with Daddy.

Oh yeah what fun!

Ohh, it is cold!

Yippee, water!

After cooling off and changing, we went to pick Apricots from the trees.

A boy, his dog, and a beer!

Both boys looking.

Grandpa Jim on the ladder, Grandma Connie with the basket, James, and Teagan standing by.

Ripe Apricots on the tree.

James picking some, and gave one to Teagan to try.

Oh boy, fresh apricot off the tree!

Yummmm!
The next day Grandma Connie surprised us with a fun gift. A water table!

Teagan watching carefully.

Here you go Grandma!

All done! Just adding water!

What a good job Teagan was doing, lifting the water can up and pouring the water in.
Next few photos contain nudity, you've been warned!
Relaxing after playing hard.

Sitting back with his drink close by!

Back to playing!

Last Morning in Bend

The morning we left to come home, we went to Starbucks in Bend with my dad before leaving. I caught a few sweet moments with Teagan and my dad playing. My dad was wearing his new T-Shirt that says,"Grandpas Rule."

My dad and Teagan sharing a seat.

Big smiles!

Hat!

Ohhh, look who stole Grandpa's drink!

Day 4 in Bend

Today was our last full day here in Bend, and wouldn't you know it we had coast-like weather, grey, cloudy, and cool. Not much fun when you have a toddler with pent up energy. Our day started off slowly and after Teagan woke up from his nap we found that the weather was starting to look up.

This is what I found when I went in to get Teagan out of his crib after his nap.

A happy boy ready to get out.

My dad has this great fish tank that Teagan loves to look at.

Soon after Teagan woke up from his nap, Justin from Aquatic Solutions came by to add some new creatures to the fish tank and to do some regular maintenance. My dad trusts and relays on Justin to look after his fish while he goes back and forth to the coast or fishing who knows where. If you live in the Bend area and need a fish guy Justin is the person to call: (541) 350-6279.

Teagan could hardly eat his snack, he was so curious watching what Justin was doing.
(Notice, Teagan is eating Gold Fish crackers, appropriate right.)

Still curious with drink in hand.
After Justin left the weather did in deed improve and we headed out to Drake Park to look at the ducks and Geese.

Teagan following Grandpa Lee.

"Look at the bird right here!"

"Wait for me...."

Teagan and Grandpa holding hands, so that he does not go into Mirror Pond.

Look what's coming!

Does he see them?

Yes he does!

Ducks, Geese, and even baby ducklings.

We did end up enjoying ourselves at the park. Then we headed up to the Farmers Market and strolled around downtown before heading back to the house. We have done a lot this trip and look forward to coming back and exploring more new things.

1st and 1st Half of the 2nd Day in Bend

Sunday Teagan and I drove to Bend to spend the week with my dad. We had spent the night with James at my girlfriend, Jen's house in Vancover, Washington, then James went home to work and Teagan and I went on to Bend. Luckily, Teagan had had eaten his lunch right before we got in the car and fell asleep after being on the road for approximately 5 miles, and slept for 1 1/2 hours! It was an easy and pretty 150 mile drive.

I took Hwy 26, East, over Mt. Hood.

Here is another look at Mt. Hood.

My precious boy asleep.
The next morning Teagan woke up at 6:15am ready and wide awake! So needless to say we were up! Mommy needed coffee, so my dad took us down to a coffee shop in Bend called Backporch Coffee Roasters, that was pretty laid back.
Teagan looking at the Poppy flowers.

Of course Teagan finds a stick, typical boy.

After coffee, we headed to a park for Teagan to play.

Mr. Independent, he wants to climb up by himself.

This was pretty big play structure and even though Teagan wants to be a little independent, my dad was right behind him.

Hum, this might be a bit bigger slide then the one we have at our house...

Ok, Grandpa and Teagan went down together a few times.

Teagan loves the swing, he practically fell asleep swinging, he could hardly keep his eyes open. But what was cute was that there was another grandpa pushing his grandson on the other swing.

New Play Structure

Grandpa Lee is back from traveling! He was gone for over 4 months on his volunteering adventure and we are happy to have him back! We were able to visit with while he was gone via Skype, so Teagan would still see him and not forget who he was.
This last weekend while Grandpa Lee was visiting us he surprised Teagan with a play structure! We are so excited to have it and yesterday James put it together for him.

While Teagan was taking his nap James put the play structure together.

Even Kiely helped. hehe

Teagan woke up and saw this and new he wanted to try it out.
Up the stairs he went!
Onto the platform.

Spin the wheel!

Teagan's hair blowing in the wind.

A slide!

Down he goes into Daddy's arms!

We put the structure in the back yard.

All ready to be played on!

The structure even has a climbing wall for when Teagan gets bigger!
Thanks Grandpa Lee!
